Greg Agawa is an Elder and fisher who lives in Goulais Bay. He started fishing with his father around age six and continued for most of his life. He takes pride in the Batchewana community and the progress they have made in asserting their Aboriginal and Treaty rights. Greg has been a part of several court cases involving the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry fighting for Batchewana’s right to fish. Greg’s hope is for the Batchewana people to take all their lands back and start looking after it like Mother Earth wants them to.
